Ultra High Performance Concrete Buckets
When it comes to Ultra High Performance Concrete, having the right buckets to place the concrete can become critical. If you are looking for the right option to address this need, we already have it from Eichinger of Germany. Our Square Concrete Buckets already have the right options to ensure that you don’t have any losses of Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) in the placement process. Big loose gates are great for large lab and foundation pours. Today’s Ultra High Performance Concrete pours are more of a precise target pour. We can help with that.

The Right Tool for Ultra High Performance Concrete
The Right Tool for Ultra High Performance Concrete is a bucket that is designed for precision. The gate on our Models 1032 through model 1037 are just that. Precision concrete placement tools. The gates are tight and square. The levers open the gate to a round hopper of your size choice. 6”, 8”, or 12” in diameter (Rounded from Metric). If you want tight control to have less need to building funneling formwork, we can supply the 6” option. If you wanted it to move as fast as possible with the gate wide open at all times, we can supply the 12” diameter option. You can use this as a central discharge, or from a tremie so you can have the tremie in the formwork so that you’ll experience zero loss. As expensive as UHPC is, it’s well worth considering the benefit of achieving zero losses. If you happen to be a working in operations the benefit from a chute, we can also provide chutes on the 1034 and 1035 standing concrete buckets. One is already included with the 1032 Concrete Bucket. It should be noted that the gate system on the 1032 is a bit loose relative to the 1035. In any case, if you are using the tremie, you can also hang it up to deliver a secondary control measure for the potential of leaking concrete.

Nebraska Department of Transportation Report on Ultra High Performance Concrete and the Efficacy of Buckets
The Nebraska Department of Transportation poured I Beams with concrete buckets and reported on the results of the work. The report is found here. Or you can download the PDF.
The report notes that the concrete bucket they used leaked concrete to the extent that they could not “entirely fill the form because the significant amount of UHPC was lost due to bucket leakage.” Our solutions would prevent this issue due to our tighter gates.
When pouring into forms with a truck, the project found that the height of the forms caused the flow of the concrete to be slow. This also required extra HRWRA to maintain the workability of the concrete. They found that a “… large concrete bucket would allow faster discharge of the UHPC and shorten the placement duration.” - Page 32 of the Nebraska DOT PDF Linked above.
On Page 39 they go on to noted that using a concrete bucket to place the UHPC, “..resulted in a very high placement rate." Let’s not forget that in this operation they aren’t even using the right tool for the job.
Specialty Concrete Buckets for Various Operations
Specialty Concrete Buckets from Eichinger has been their specialty for 122 years. The 1017 is a bucket that would do well with Ultra High Performance Concrete. The Tremie hose has a gate at the end of the tremie. The result is that you could place the concrete exactly where you wanted it at any time. The flow rate and location of the materials would literally be in the hands of the placer and controlled by a handle.

If your operations are served well by using a forklift to place the concrete, many of our square buckets can be delivered with forklift pockets. Precast operations that use UHPC would be served well by a variety of Eichinger Concrete Buckets. If you reach out at sales@cranegear.net, we can help you pick out the options for your operations. We can even set up remote control buckets for those operations where that would make sense. A blue toothed remote would allow the forklift operator to pour the concrete without ever getting out of the seat. This could literally become a two person operation.

Ultra Higher Performance Concrete Buckets by Eichinger will help you succeed in placing UHPC in Construction or Industrial application. The variety of buckets that we have are more than any other single supplier. With sizes as large as 10 yards, and down to a quarter yard, we’ll have the size and purpose you’ll need covered. Either moved by crane or forklift. Manual or remote. Hopper, Tremie, or Chute delivery, including all three options in several single units. No matter what your option needs are, we likely have what you need for the placement of UHPC.
