Concrete Buckets 3 Yards & Larger By CraneGear

Concrete Buckets 3 Yards and Larger are a solution that you’ll need sometimes. Most cranes aren’t terribly happy moving 15,000 lbs of concrete and bucket, but if you have a crane well suited to it, and the savings is found in the removal of a placing boom and foundation, we’re here to help. We have several options that we can bring to bear that will enable you to choose the solution that will work for you. We can actually even deliver concrete buckets up to 10.8 yards should the need for that ever become a reality.

Square Concrete Buckets by CraneGear

Square Concrete Buckets by Crane Gear are the premium concrete bucket solution. The square design adds some rigidity and life to the concrete bucket versus the round options. You can option these out in several ways that most other buckets don’t offer.

  • Bale Arm, Traverse, 4 Way Chain or Master Links for lifting

  • Geared Gates, or lever gates

  • Remote gate and vibrator built in

  • Fork Pockets or standard base

  • Tremie hoses in many sizes from 6 inch to 12 inch diameters.

  • Some versions can be set up with a chute.

  • Model 1032 has a chute and tremie hose option

These well accessorized buckets have the construction advantages you’ll want for a long service life. The gates are replaceable and just bolt in. So that team not caring for the buckets as well as they should can be forgiven in four bolts. Ten minutes of work can repair years of abuse.

The gray portion simply unbolts to be replaced.

The fork pocket option makes the prepping and cleaning of the bucket so much easier. You no longer need the tower crane, crane operator and rigger to hang out at $500 while the bucket is cleaned or while it’s being prepped. If you have those pour backs to do with stem walls and closure strips to do, you can use this bucket with a forklift and get it done without the army of buggies and a pump being brought in. The savings on these can be significant and only limited by your forklift and the ground pressures.

5 Yard Concrete Buckets

5 Yard Concrete Buckets are available with our models 1032 through 1037’s. At 3 yards, these start to have loading height issues to be aware of. At 2.6 yards these get up to 80” tall for loading. That would often require ramping on the concrete truck to work well. If you are used to working with large concrete buckets, you’ll find this to be quite common. The logistical cost at the truck is often minor versus enjoying the win in volume and reducing the number of trips to the truck. On larger pours, you can literally pour out a truck in 10 minutes without the aid of a pump truck which can save you thousands of dollars each day.

Low Loading Large Concrete Buckets

Low Loading Large Concrete Buckets up to 5 yards are an option with us. Our Rectangle Buckets load as low as 62 inches when they have 5.2 yards of capacity.

1093 Rectangle Concrete Bucket with 5 yards of capacity.

These gates are 4.5 feet wide at this massive capacity. This is awesome for massive flow rates on wide pours. If you want to pour decks or foundations quickly, you’ll find no better option than this bucket. This does have a caveat. The drag on the gate is significant give the weight and the width. If you are to use these for concrete pours, it would be best for them to have a remote gate system. This will enable the gate to be opened up easily. It will also come with a vibrator built in so you can quickly ensure the bucket is fully emptied before going back to the truck.

These buckets serve really well as materials buckets on landscapes and roofing. You’ll see people using concrete buckets with a round spout trying to pour our soils and they get stuck. When the gate is 4’ wide, there is always a portion that flows so the whole bucket doesn’t just have a stuck lump like happens with the round buckets.

Large Laydown Concrete Buckets by CraneGear

Large Laydown Concrete Buckets by CraneGear solves the problem of tall loading heights. Our 1034 Laydown Concrete Buckets can come in sizes up to 5 yards. Even at these massive sizes, the loading height is 62”. You can tailgate the concrete easily without ramping the concrete truck. Once you stand this concrete bucket up, the concrete inside flows to fill the standard vertical section you would see on a 1034 standing bucket, and suddenly you have the best of both worlds. High capacity without needing to ramp the concrete truck.

1034 Being used in the UK. Notice the crane hook didn’t move while the bucket rolled down. If they do the same during the hoist up process, they’ll only need to adjust the boom position to compensate for tower deflection. It’s very fast.

These come in the same variety as the square buckets. Tighter gates are found on the 1035 Concrete Buckets. Geared Gates are also an option. But the physical size is the same between each of the models. I prefer the master link connection on these. When you have a traverse or bale arm, you need to remember to secure the arm up for safety. Or, you might have to climb up to attach and detach it in operations like the picture above if you need to detach from the crane for a moment. With the master links, that is no longer a significant problem due to the link locations.

Master Links on Model 1034 4 Yard Concrete Bucket. These are the most economical option as well.

This covers the variety of the large square concrete buckets we have at CraneGear. If you let us know your goals, we can guide you to the options. We do also have Large Round Concrete buckets. Most of the round models stop at 2.6 yards. But the 1016 can be set up with a massive 10.8 yards. If you have the crane that can move 50,000 lbs efficiently like a dam project might, we have the bucket to make the pours fast.

Whatever your concrete needs are in Precast Concrete or in Construction, we’ll have a solution for you. If talking through it would be good, give us a call. Or Email us here. With more than a 1000 combinations of buckets, I’m sure we’ll have what you need at CraneGear.net
