Universal Pallet Skips for Crane and Forklifts
Universal Skips are a great addition as a contractor’s solution to supplying the miscellaneous. Sometimes Yard folk that supply the field will buy a plastic bin and use it as a means to fly their employees tools and supplies up to them on a job. It isn’t legal or safe as a practice. But we can help them achieve the same goals and do so safely.
The largest version of this bin is rated at 4400 lbs. They come ready for castors. We can supply them if requested. But they do come with castors that have a carriage bolt at a 3 inch on center spread cut into the steel. If you are shipping materials and you want a way to tote items up to a floor on castors, these are a great solution. Think of the time savings to have a four point lift built in. Instead of breaking away a person to go rig up the item 20 different times on a common job, the jobsite rigger can just connect the four lifting hooks already on the crane. It’s faster, cheaper, and safer for everyone on the job site. Stop tracking small rigging the walks away and get our systems that have the lifting lugs built in. Get the security of a positive connection. Get the reliability of top lifting on four lifting points so it’s impossible for an unstable load to escape if it’s below the hooked on point.
Alternatives to the Universal Bin
As an alternative to the Universal Bins that you see here, we can deliver different products that can also be a crane bin, but at better price points. The Universal Bins take up some space during shipping. This is the biggest driver on the cost. They stack up nicely for shipping, so if you had more than one, we can start driving down that cost per unit very quickly. A Universal Skip without shipping and tariff is $1120 for the model 2031.10 which is one yard in size. If we are shipping in a container of other items, that’s what we would charge. So if you have several in mind, you really should reach out for a quote.
Alternatively, if you just need a bin that is crane rated, I would point to our 1312 and 1313 series. Before we ship, our 1313.6 for example is a Mesh Sided Stacking bin that can come with lifting links at the base and an ASME B30.20 rating of 3300 lbs. The 1313.6 is $398 in paint. Or we can do 1311’s with a board holder that ships cheaply. The cost for one of those can be $275 per unit. The delivered cost can be $325 per unit if we sell them in high volumes.
