Clamshell Bucket for Landscaping Materials

from $2,150.00

Our Clamshell Buckets are great for flowable materials such as those used in landscaping. They aren’t limited. Plumbers and those excavating materials can use them as well to crane materials into and out of places on commercial construction sites as well. These serve many purposes in transferring flowable product efficiently. Into or out of a jobsite, these are great tools contractors should be considering.

Clamshell Buckets for Rooftop Gardens

Clamshell Buckets are great for loading up rooftop gardens. These gardens are more and more common. Our Clamshell Buckets can become the standard operating procedure for loading up the roofs. You can select exactly where you want to place the product and gently dump out the product without shock-loading the crane or having the bin get out of control. It’s a speedy function, but the limited opening and the piling of the flow leads to reasonable control.

The Results:

  • Accurate placement

  • Less manual moving of the product

  • Move up to 10 yards in four lift cycles

  • Stop paying to have product bagged.

  • Stop creating waste in the bags themselves.

  • Save at around $500 per hour which is the cost of a crane, Operator, and rigger.

Clamshell Sizes

The Eichinger Clamshell Buckets model 1043 come in seven sizes.

  1. 0.32 Yards

  2. 0.5 Yards

  3. 0.65 Yards

  4. 1 Yard

  5. 1.3 Yards

  6. 2 yards

  7. 2.6 yards

The volume of the bin is important. It’s a great thing to get 10 yards of materials to a location with just four lift cycles with the crane. The other consideration is the “Length” of the bin. You’ll want those inside dimensions as wide as possible to enable quickly loading with a Skid Steer or other front end loader. The delivery location can also be a solid driver of what size to have. If your clients like having smaller planters, then having a smaller bin can be faster as it prevents spillage. This design also can’t be stopped once the pouring starts too. So if you have low volume deliveries, you’ll want to either lightly fill the bin, or choose a bin that suits your needs.

Crane Rated Bin with ASME Certificate - OSHA Compliant

One of the questions we get are, “Is it OSHA Rated” or “OSHA Approved”. Well, there isn’t exactly such a thing. We do enable you to comply with OSHA 1926.251. That is to mean that this is manufactured, and rated. That complies with OSHA. OSHA doesn’t have a team going around and stamping these like say a UL labeling regime works. Similarly with ASME B30.20 that we comply with. We look at the standards and apply them through our design phase. We exceed them all. The ASME requires a 125% load test and a 300% design standard for Below the Hook Items. We load test our designs to 300% in the prototyping phase. Our Bins are as safe as you’ll find around the world. Over and over our clients note the notable build quality of our equipment. And it’s compliant in every state and I believe every province in Canada as well.

Shipped to Your Door

We will handle the shipping to your door. We manufacture these in Germany and can handle the shipping as a door to door delivery. In Canada, you would need to provide a Customs Broker. They will handle the taxes and any fees in Canada. Canada and Germany (the EU) have free trade so no tariffs should apply. In the US we’ll make it all seamless. The deliveries do take time with the Ocean. We have a vast catalog. We try to keep everything in stock. Even so, when we have it in stock and ready to go, it’s not uncommon for a shipment to take a week to get out of the door. Then it’s 40 to 60 days on the water. We can sell “Ex Works” where you pick it up at the factory if you have logistics teams in place. The price on an Ex Works basis can be shockingly low versus Ala Carte prices with shipping. To that end, if you have multiple items to order, we can sell them at wholesale prices and quote the shipping. We want to deliver the best deal possible. If you would like to contact us to discuss it, please do so by email, or by phone.
