The grips are designed to sink into the material to ensure a positive 3:1 safety factor. The structures are assembled by welding to meet the designed criteria to force the rubber face into the granite of concrete as a secure attachment. The cams release only when the load is released from the face of the clamp. Clamps are used in industry and construction as a safe means to lift various product. This particular clamp is adjustable in widths to give you options and offers a variety of sizes and capacities to lift your stone or concrete with no damage to any finished product.
Efficiency and Compliance Built In
Lifting Clamps are often purpose built. Our Jersey Barrier (K rail) clamps are meant to lift just those traffic barriers. Our Ecology Block clamps are great in that they lock on without much input from the the user. The 1562 Block Lifting Clamps do need to be adjusted to the width you need to allow the material surface to be squeezed by the tool so the weight can be lifted. Once it is adjusted, these lift and release automatically each time it is set down and the load is released from the structure, but not until it’s fully unloaded each way. The efficiency of this is that you don’t have rigging to worry about. Sometimes putting slings on a block will take minutes each way with partial lifts, pry bars, dunnage and so forth. All while a crane might be waiting at a cost of $500 and hour, or over $8 a minute for crane and crew. An expense of $3000 for a clamp may strike someone as an expense. But when it saves minutes for every lift for decades and those minutes cost $8 each, it might be as little as 125 lift cycles that pay for the clam. A single retaining wall job can easily double or triple those numbers and become a great ROI. Keep in mind the Compliance as well. Lifting Clamps are a legal way to lift concrete blocks and stone. Rigging can get cut on sharp edges. Ecology Lifting Blocks aren’t meant to be lifted more than a couple of times on the lifting eyes. You can use our rated clamps endlessly and be in compliance as well.
