Bulk Container - Crane Rated
Bulk Container - Crane Rated
Bulk Containers are usually made of plastic materials. This is great for affordability. But when it comes to structural strength and life span, plastic containers can’t compete with durable steel bulk containers. And for use in crane applications, you simply shouldn’t be using anything but steel. Steel is required by ASME B30.20 and the BTH-1 for crane applications. If you need durability and a pallet sized bin that will last for decades, we are the supplier you need. Our bins are 47.6 by 40.9” in dimensions with the height determining how much capacity they have both in terms of volume, and in terms of weight capacity. Our capacity can be as high as 4400 lbs. To be clear, The ASME requires a 3:1 safety factor to achieve that number. This should help you understand the durable structural quality of our Bulk Containers versus plastic versions rated at 1500 lbs just for forklift applications.
Cost Effective Bulk Containers
Relative to plastic containers, our Reusable Bulk Containers being made of durable steel allows them to last 3 to 4 decades. You’ll find 3 to 4x the life of a plastic bin. Our bulk containers also come castor ready. You won’t spend time building a steel frame to install castors. Get some carriage bolts, and simply bolt in the castors of your choosing. We cut the carriage bolt holes in every unit. We can even deliver them with the bulk container.
When it comes to lifting them with a crane, putting slings on a plastic reusable bulk container is illegal. The short is it doesn’t have a rating (1926.251). The next perspective is, “Are you using it as the manufacturer instructs you?” Our reusable Bulk Containers are crane and forklift rated. The cost effective side is that when you do put slings on bulk container, a crane is waiting for you to put them on , and to take them off. If you have a crane and crew not moving, that pause in the action costs you $500 or so per hour. You lose as mush as $8 a minute by using durable bins that don’t have lifting eyes built in. In a crane application, if you lift it once per week for a year, you’ll, you’ll lose $850 the first year in operations. The second year it will be $2500. And the numbers just grow from there with inflation each year. So over a 30 year period… are we really looking at $70,000 lost because you love using slings? Our Reusable Bulk Containers are hugely cost effective.
The durable construction of the bulk containers also pay back in the service life. Instead of replacing them every 7-10 years due to embrittlement, the steel will keep on lasting long past your career. If it costs 4x as much, but lasts 4x as long, did it really cost 4x as much, or just the same?
Bulk Containers as Pallets
There are so many industries that use reusable Bulk Containers as Pallets. If you are storing or moving food products like grain or fruit, these bins are ubiquitous. Our bins are not only set up to work with forklifts, and with cranes, but they can also can be set up with our 2091 hydraulic tipper. If you need to tip bins over, we have a hydraulic tipper to achieve that would work with anything that has enclosed fork pockets. With a set of castors and a tipper, these are ideal as a rugged cart. Check all of the boxes with are crane materials bin here.
If you need to store items, our Bulk Containers can stack. You could roll them around on castors if that helps as well. The ridged structural nature allows you to strap down one, or a stack on a truck quickly and with confidence. It’s one of the benefits of them being constructed of steel and their rugged nature.
If Storage is a priority, we can look at building lids for these as well so your storage needs are met. We know that in construction or industrial applications, bulk containers like these are great for storage. And why have to store a bin, but not make use of it’s storage capabilities? Whatever material you need to store, from grain to waste, we’ll meet your requirements with our products at CraneGear.net
Shipping
These ship best as a group in a stack. Once you’ve claimed the space for one, the cost per unit to ship from there falls quickly. We can quote a volume sale and find a large savings. If we are selling multiple items, These will retail for as low as $1305 at the 0.39 yard size. We can work out the best deal for you as a buyer in including the shipping entirely, or quoting it separately for the dimensions that we need to consider.
